Spotlight on a volunteer - Rachel Partridge

Rachel has been a volunteer with Horsley & Bookham RDA since 2014, completing both her bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh's awards with us. Rachel is a friendly, outgoing and helpful member of our team who is always cheerful and never misses a session. She is a much valued and vital volunteer.

Rachel is now working towards her Gold D of E, which she wants to complete with the RDA for her residential camp. She asked one of our group leaders if there were any camps and was put in touch with the RDA camp organisers via the website. Rachel has chosen to attend the RDA camp from the 7th - 11th August held in Otley, West Yorkshire. Rachel and the other volunteers will be staying in an old church converted to lodgings at Bolton Abbey and the riding will take place at Arecliff Equestrian Centre. The riders are grade 4 or above and working towards their gold awards.

Rachel also enjoys working with dogs and takes part in agility and dog shows with her insatiable Collie. She also works at another riding yard each week mucking out and helping in the yard after she has finished with our sessions. During our Sunday rides Rachel is taking a keen interest in helping our younger volunteers with their confidence and is proving to be a great mentor.

Rachel - we would like to say a big thank you for all that you do for us at RDA. You are an inspiration and are very much appreciated. We are sure you will have a great time in August!
