In December we held an open day for our supporters at Wyvenhoe Equestrian Club which included a Dressage competition open to all our riders.
We were delighted to welcome The Worshipful the Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Mike Parsons, and the Mayoress, Mrs Jean Parsons, along with representatives from Bookham Bowls Club (who recently announced their support of our charity in 2019) Clare Maguire, the 2018 Lady Captain of Effingham Golf Club (corporate sponsor of Toffee, Maggie and Jim Bob) Andy Russell from Russell & Co (corporate sponsor for Donald) along with his daughter and a number of supporters who individually sponsor a pony.
The Dressage took place in the indoor school, which was set up to competition standards, and the riders each took their turn impressing the judges with their listening skills and ability to undertake the instructions and move their pony accordingly. All riders received a rosette upon completion.
Despite the rain a great day was had by all, especially the horses who were thoroughly spoilt by our guests who arrived with carrots and polos!
Huge thanks to the coaches, leaders, volunteers, judges, Steph Brown (our photographer) and those who braved the weather to join us for the day.
