We are delighted that in 2018 Clare Maguire, who held the title of Lady Captain at Effingham Golf Club, chose our RDA as her charity of the year.
Clare undertook a variety of fundraising activities during her twelve months as Captain, including an online auction, a ball and sock sweep, a Bridge day and a music night where Clare sang with her band.
Clare's efforts raised a fantastic £7,347.39! The funds were used to cover the costs of stabling, feed, tack and general maintenance of Jim Bob, Maggie and Toffee.
"I enjoyed my year as Lady Captain, it was a very busy time but enjoyable and I feel that I gained as much from doing it as the golf club did from my efforts. I liked the idea that the RDA is a local charity, run by volunteers and reliant on donations and that's what made my decision to support them." Clare Maguire
